As you all know, I LURV make up. I especially lurv eye makeup. There are so many ways to mix it up and make it pop.
I always feel that I need to wear eye makeup. I think I have small eyes, so I need to make them show up. For me, I start with an eye primer. My absolute favorite is Shadow Insurance by Too Faced. It was recommended to me by my friend Brie, who is a great make up artist. I’ve also heard great things about mark’s Please Hold Eye Primer.
You don’t need much of either product, but it gives the shadow something to adhere to, instead of just thin eye skin.
Most days, I just go pretty neutral with my color. Almost everyday I use two colors from mark that compliment each other, and blend well together. Minx and Java. Minx is a slightly shimmery gray/brown, and java is a richer brown.
I have a TON of other shadows as well, but that what I use on an almost daily basis. Minx is great for using with other colors as well. I typically do a V shape on the corner of my eyelid with my contrast or shading color. So, minx as a base all over, and then java in the corners. Sometimes I’ll do a funky purple, like this one from MAC.
MAC has some amazing colors, but they are not cheap! Another way to make use of your eyeshadow is to use it as an eyeliner. You do need an eyeliner brush. I prefer ones with an angle.
Eyeliner is a great way to change up your look as well. You can have neutral eye colors, but then put on a fun color for eyeliner, and it completely punches up your look. Right now I love the trend of neutral colors on the top eyelid, and a great color like green, teal, or purple on the lower lash line.
If you aren’t comfortable with color on the lower lash line, a white eyeliner along the lower lash line and in the inside corner of your eye can definitely brighten up your eyes and help you look more awake. My absolute FAVORITE eyeliner is No Place to Run:
And always, always, ALWAYS finish of the look with mascara. I always curl mine, and use a couple of coats of mascara. My current favorite mascara is Lashgasm, by Too Faced.
I am a rep for mark Cosmetics, so if you do want to try any of the mark products I’ve shown here, please let me know. I’d be ECSTATIC to have a one on one with you! I think we could even have a glass of wine.
I’d also LURV to have some people to just play makeover with!
I know my eyes because of shape (I’ve got hooded eyes) can NEVER look like this, but I’d still like to try!!
